15 Unique Holiday Centerpieces!

Now that it's after Thanksgiving, I feel like it's appropriate to bust out the holiday-themed posts! I have to say, I'm pretty excited. I'm also doing something I've never done before, and that's compile a list for you all about some of the prettiest and most unique DIY table centerpieces for your holiday celebrations! Let's get started!

1. A beautiful tree made out of recycled sheet music!

Instructions here.

2. Mason jars, cranberries, pine-boughs, water, and a tealight is all you need to make this beautiful candle centerpiece!

Instructions here.

3. Candles tied with cinnamon (I really like candles, ok? Just go with me here!)

Easy, pretty, and they smell delicious! Learn how to do this here.

4. Glittery pine cones!

I couldn't find the original directions, but you get the idea - go out and gather some pine cones, spray paint them pretty colors, and find a nice container to show everybody how beautiful they are :) A compilation of pine cones here.

5. Ornaments in jars!

I couldn't find a blog post for this, but you get the idea! Fake snow optional :)

6. Mini evergreen tree centerpiece!

For those of you that want some natural decoration! Blog post here.

7. Candy canes!

8. Candy canes and candles, two recurring themes around here :)

Delicious and beautiful! Original post here.

9. Rustic holiday lantern

Although this picture comes from an Etsy shop, the materials they used are listed and I'm sure you'd be able to recreate your own (and make it even better!). If you would like to order one, here is the shop.

10.  Classic wreath

This woman gives step by step instructions as to how she did her wreath, so you can modify it to whatever you want! Instructions here.

11. Succulent Terrarium

This is so cute! This is also from Etsy, but it would be pretty easy to make your own! Succulents are easy to care for and they need minimal attention.

12. Yule Log centerpiece (You'll need a big table for this one!)

There are no instructions, but you get the idea. This is great for any of you who celebrate Yule or for those who just want some lovely nature in their dining room :)

13. "Noel"

This looks lovely! Blog post here.

14. A new take on the classic ornament tablescape!

How awesome is that?? Link here.

Last but not least....

15. Empty Kleenex boxes!

And you can decorate them whatever way you like!

I hope I gave you some fun ideas for your holiday tables this year! Be bold, be brave, be different. :)

Hello everybody!

I've recently been learning how to make cards and labels, so I decided to try it out and make a Yule printable greeting card at a friend's suggestion! I've uploaded it here as a picture, but here's what you do if you want to print it as a card:

1. Right click on the picture and choose "Save as". Choose the folder you want it to go to and download it. Keep that folder open.

2. Open a Word document go to the "Page Layout" tab and choose "Landscape".

3. Drag the photo into the word document.

4. Print on cardstock or whatever other paper you want, and then trim to size! This card is made to be mailed as a single sheet, although you can fold it if you want! The size of this card is 5x7, so make sure you choose an envelope that fits it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello, all!

Although I'm pretty sure that this blog has readers and I'm sure you're all celebrating Thanksgiving with your family, I just wanted to send out Happy Thanksgiving wishes in the hopes that you're having a wonderful holiday.

It's so important to count our many blessings! I'm thankful to Mother Earth for providing us with food and the essentials to survive every day, to my lovely boyfriend for always being there for me, and to all of you for reading and enjoying every day with me!

Now, with that being said, go eat some turkey (and remember to be grateful to the turkey that sacrificed its life so that we could eat!)!

Have a wonderful, stuffing-filled day!!

Love, Karen

~Free Printable!!~ Thanksgiving placecards!

Hello everyone! It's almost thanksgiving, so I decided to make place cards for those of you who have big family parties!

The size of these are 4x6, and two of them will fit in a word document. To print them two to a page:
1. Right click on the image and choose "save as" and save it in a location that works for you.
2. Open a word document.
3. Find where you saved the image, and open it in whatever picture viewer you have. Right click on it and select "copy".
4. Paste onto your word document, and make the text wrapping "square" so you can move it so two will fit on one page!

Cardstock works best to print these, but do whatever works for you! I made them so you can write in the names of your guests, because that gives a nice personal touch :)

* Break a Bad Habit Spell!! *

Hello everyone, and bright blessings to you all. I just wrote this spell (all by myself - what whaaaat!) because I didn't find many to help someone break bad habits. I'm writing this during the time after Samhain, where letting go of old things and making room for the new is the theme of the Wheel at this time! So please enjoy this spell, feel free to take it and share, but please give credit where it's due!!

Banish Bad Habits Spell
To get rid of negative habits that stop you from achieving your goals and your highest potential. Ex – self-depreciation, excessive overeating, eating lots of junk food, drinking too much, etc.
Moon Phase/Season:
Optional, but ideally casted after a new moon during after Samhain, the time of the year when things start to die.
You Will Need:
Writing Utensil
Paper cut into pieces – as many as is needed for however many habits you want to banish
A sheet of paper, or a journal
1. Write down the bad habits that you want to be rid of. Think about and visualize to yourself all of the ways that these habits are making life hard or stopping you from getting to your goals. Really examine your desire to be rid of this habit, until you can feel the desire to be rid of it rising within you.
2. As you feel the desire to be rid of the bad habit(s), chant:
Bad habits, go away
I will not give you the time of day.
I will improve my daily life
You shall never cause me strife!
Earth, Air, Fire, Sea
As it is willed, so mote it be!

Repeat as many times a necessary to really emphasize the point!

Rip up the papers and either throw them away (I put mine in a plastic container with some salt to neutralize the bad energy) , bury them, or burn them to release the negative energy!

3. Now, visualize all the ways that getting rid of this habit will make your life better – what will your life look like without this habit? Think about the future, and imagine yourself happy/healthy/successful without these bad habits holding you back! Take a little bit of time and write about how not having these bad habits will make you feel. Store this paper somewhere you will remember and look at it when the urge to give in to the bad habit(s) arises again!

That’s it! Blessed be!
